This is the second segment of the PSA:
"This is a Public Service Announcement. There is a whole generation of Hip-Hop teachers, lawyers, doctors, social workers and people in jail. And they're all MCs. Because the passing down of stories, love, healing, and justice to the people is a cermeony. And they are masters. Masters of Ceremony. MCs. The rest of us? Are just a bunch of rappers." (Hoch 2002)

Public Service Announcement
I was reading an interesting article titled "Hip Hop's Global Soundscape:Boom Bap Babylon or Babylon's Boom Bap?" in WORDS.BEATS.LIFE The Global Journal of Hip-Hop Culture and wanted to share a few quotes with yall. They are all taken from "P.S.A." by D. Hoch. I will break up the quotes over a series of posts titled PSA, as a break from the music videos and downloads that are normally posted:
PSA PT. 1
"This is a Public Service Announcement. Hip-Hop is NOT what you see on TV, buy in a store or hear on the radio. You think rap is Hip-Hop because you can buy it and take it home with you. But there is no culture in the world that you can buy off a shelf at Coconuts." (Hoch, 2002)
